Burlap Heart Plant Stake - Pinterest Success #14

There is a small pine tree in my kitchen window that I decorate now and then. I have some mini ornaments; snowflakes, shamrocks and easter eggs, that hang sweetly, from the branches. When I put out my Valentine decorations this week and removed some of the snowflakes and snowmen, I felt there was something missing from the tree. I remembered a burlap ornament I had pinned, and decided I could adapt the basic idea for Valentine's Day and create a heart shaped stake to go in tree.

The original pin can be found here, but I made up the steps as I went along.

{Step 1} Make a paper heart template

{Step 2} Cut 2 burlap hearts using template. Cut 1 heart from quilt batting, then trim slightly smaller.

{Step 3} Glue layers together with glue gun and insert stick through the bottom edge

{Step 4} Decorate with pin or crystals

The best thing, is that it was made with scraps I had around the house and an old pin from my jewelry box. I love its simplicity, against the greenery.

Happy Wednesday!
