The First Game

We headed out to our first football game of the season a little after noon on Friday, all packed up for tailgating and ready to get our weekend started. Our favorite tailgate spot awaited us and we planned to set up as early as we could, to enjoy every minute, before the start of the game that night.

When we arrived, we quickly set up two tents, three tables of food and two grills. We had enough food for an army and by game time, we had been visited by at least fifty hungry college students.

The tents were filled with lots of love and laughter and Spartan green was the color of the day. It was great to see Melissa and she was able to come by after the game too. Setting up a tailgate on campus and having my children visit has always been a dream come true for me and this first tailgate went exactly as planned; friends, family and college students, ready to eat all the delicious food and anticipate the start of the game.

After packing up and heading into the stadium, the sights and sounds of another football season had begun. While daytime games are fun, there is something special about being under the lights in a packed football stadium. This was the first game, the first win and the start of a wonderful fall, filled with football and Saturdays spent on MSU's beautiful campus.

Happy Tuesday!
