Indian Corn Candle - Pinterest Success #6

As I was putting together my tables for Thanksgiving, I decided that I could use a new centerpiece for the buffet table. It needed to be on a smaller scale, since I need room for all the dishes of food and I didn't want anything too involved, at this point in the preparations.

I pinned this a few weeks ago and decided I could improvise with some things that I already had. If you look at the original pin, you will see I did not have Indian corn with husks, nor did I place the corn all the way around the vase. I also used burlap, instead of twine. My version is different, but I am happy with the changes.

The easy steps are as follows : {Step 1 - glue indian corn with glue gun, around back and sides of glass vase to temporarily hold upright} {Step 2 - tie strip of burlap, you have previously cut and fringed around corn to hold in place. Tie a knot or bow in the front of the vase} {Step 3 - insert candle in vase}

This pretty candle will give a festive glow to my buffet table and I made it with materials I already had. Don't be afraid to improvise when you are looking at a pinterest idea. Since my buffet table is against the wall, this version looks even better. Pinterest should give us the idea, but our creativity should shine through :-)

10 days until Thanksgiving - have a great Tuesday!

  7. I love it! I've actually used a few Pinterest ideas for Thanksgiving decorations and been very pleased with them. I also changed them up a bit.

    I'm an empty-nester now too, but miss my grown-up kids so much--none of them live in the town where I live.
