For the next couple of weeks, you will find me in the midst of a minor update to my upstairs bathroom. This room functions as my daughters bathroom when they are home, as well as a guest bathroom, since the guest room is on that floor as well. I haven't done much with the room, since the girls moved out and it definately needs a freshening up.
The first project will be the removal of the wallpaper and fresh paint on the walls. My plan is to keep this fairly neutral, since resale is in the foreseeable future. I am planning on a white paint, with a hint of gray, that will be a blank canvas for colorful accessories. The shower curtain I have picked out is a bright green leaf print with a touch of silver in the pattern that will work well with the wall color. The green will be picked up in the rugs and I have plans to use bright shades of pink as the other accent color. I plan to mix patterns for a fun and eclectic style.
It is not a large room, so I am hoping it all comes together fairly quickly and I can share the results with you soon. Now that I am ready to begin, I tend to work at a fairly quick pace, because I can't wait to see the final outcome.
Have a wonderful weekend. We will be very busy with a big pompon competition for Melissa's MSU Pompon Team, as well as the very big MSU versus Ohio State football game on Saturday. Go Green!
I love the fresh colors you chose, and it is so smart to keep a neutral wall color for resale or future redecorating. I would be interested to hear about the process of removing wallpaper. I have several bathrooms and a kitchen that we will be changing from wallpaper to paint.
ReplyDeleteStripping wallpaper... not my most fun thing ever, but I've been doing it off and on for the last 5 years, lol.
ReplyDeleteLove the fun combination of colours, so lively and fresh!
Love the colors....Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors you have chosen. Can't wait to see it all come together. Good luck to Melissa's Pom Team!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great color pallet. It's really going to make the room sparkle!!! Wall paper removal can be a bear, I've had my trials with it also. If it goes clear up to the ceiling be sure to take frequent breaks to rest your back and neck.
ReplyDeleteGo Buckeyes!! (sorry - I'm from Ohio!). Taking off wallpaper is a job, but paint freshens up a room like nothing else! I can't wait to see photos of the completed re-do!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun project (well, except the wallpaper removal). Love the colors and prints you've chosen, and can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteA makeover is sooooo much fun:) Can't wait to watch! Have a blessed weekend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteHaven't heard the outcome of the game yet..Penn State won today..hope you did too..Good luck with your bathroom..I love to remodel !!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had your energy. Ideas in my head but that is as far as I have gone. Looks like you wrote some ideas down and made some purchases . . . Guess it is a matter of just simply beginning!
ReplyDeleteMaybe seeing this will encourage me . . .
A terrible football weekend for both of us...but your bathroom will be beautiful!
