Countdown Begins

Photos by Carrie House Photography

First, my daughter's wedding was over a year away, then we started counting months, now it's weeks and soon it will be days. We are in the final planning stages; meal counts, place cards, balances due and much more. But, I think we are in a good place and hopefully when we arrive in Michigan, there will be little to actually do and just anticipation for a weekend of celebration to come.

I can't say enough about this couple and how we all are looking forward to sharing in their happiness. From freshman year at the University of Michgan, to nine years later, where they will start their married life in Pittsburgh, they have always been one of those couples that you just knew were going to make it. It is a wonderful feeling to be heading into a daughter's wedding and have zero reservations and only joy.

Her fiancé is a great guy, perfect for her and we love his family too. We look forward to many years ahead where we all experience the milestones of life together.

Happy Thursday!

P.S. Any wedding day advise from you veteran mothers of the bride out there?

  1. Their engagement photos are gorgeous!! Take it all in and enjoy!!

  2. My daughter got married 9 years ago and my advice to you is enjoy every minute of that special day. I felt I had to talk to everyone and, in the end, didn't have as much fun.

  3. These photos are beautiful. I like the relaxed nature of the photos.

An exciting time. I am a mom to pups but I remember my mom on my wedding day. She made sure I was relaxed and all the details for me personally were top priority. She also cried many tears of joy and sadness of her youngest daughter getting married

  4. As mremcher suggested, I also spent too much time worrying about talking to people and generally acting like a hostess, and I wish I had just soaked it all in and let people take care of themselves which, in retrospect, they certainly would have. And keep those tissues or hankie ready, so many joyful tears!

  5. All I can say is that MoG is much easier than MoB!! Your daughter is beautiful and will be such a lovely bride. I can't wait to see the photos!!

  6. Happy beautiful, handsome couple . . .
    Only advise I have . . . ENJOY!

  7. So happy for you, your pretty daughter, and everyone.

I have three out of four kids married. Best advice is to bring a glittery pair of flat sandals for the reception. It's a killer day!

  8. OMG what beautiful pictures of a lovely couple! Can't wait to follow along as you all enjoy the Wedding and their new life ahead together! Have a blessed day dear Vicki, HUGS!

  9. They are a lovely couple who look so much in love. My advice, from a non veteran mother of the bride or groom, enjoy every second.

  10. they're precious!!!! be here before you know it!!!! woooohoooo!!!!

  11. I echo the advice of the others: just relax and enjoy every minute of the day! We can't wait to see pictures!!
