Loving Instagram

My affection for Instagram grows every day. It has been almost six months since I made that first post and at the time, I wondered how it would fit in with my blog. I could see how twitter worked to bring readers through linking my posts, but Instagram had a different feel. It seemed to be more about making a connection, a quick comment or giving a like to a pretty photo. What I found was a community that is uplifting, friendly and a nice compliment to my blog.

I can post a quick photo as I go about my day and immediately receive feedback. I don't have a Facebook account ( no interest), but do follow my daughters on Instagram and love seeing the little snippets of their life. Megan loves to post photos of the dinners she cooks and that's fun to see across the miles. I see a different side of my blogging friends, as well as keeping in touch with those who have stopped blogging as often. And, the photos are beautiful.

I would never stop blogging, because there are too many words inside me most days, needing to be put on the page. But, Instagram is a fun way to quickly share my life and share the lives of others. I would love to have any of you that are on Instagram join me and if you haven't tried it yet, I think you would enjoy it as much as I do.

You can find me at user name lifeinmyemptynest :-)

Happy Thursday!

  2. Perfect timing on this post. I was just wondering if I should get on Instagram yesterday to keep up with what my daughters are doing. Never thought of it as and add on to the blog. Thanks!

  6. I love Instagram too, I've not been on it long...but am surprised how much I like it.. It's so easy and instant gratification...and interaction. We follow each other. But do you notice how professional some photos are? Instagram is suppose to be about photos from your camera, now some larger blog actually forward their blog post images to their cameras and upload. This really bugs me...what do you think?

  9. A friend of mine who also has no interest in Facebook introduced me to the wonders of Instagram. Really the only reason I'm on FB is to see pics so Instagram fits the bill perfectly!
