Making Flavored Water

One of my Mother's Day presents and something I had wanted for a while, was a water infuser. I always drink a lot more water in the warmer months and when I saw one of these, loved the idea of making my own flavored water. This is a great way to add extra nutrients to water, make it healthy and the taste is delicious too. The water infuser that I am using can be found on Amazon here, but there are many varieties available, including water pitchers.

So far, I have made and enjoyed both strawberry and cucumber flavored water. There are many other flavors I want to make including, lemon - lime, raspberry, watermelon and cucumber mint. The possibilities are endless. To use this infuser, simply chop one or two pieces of fruit or vegetables into small pieces and place in the infuser basket. Fill the infuser with water and place in fridge overnight. Shake gently and enjoy your flavored water. I'll definately be using a lot less water bottles this summer :-)

Happy Wednesday!

  1. What a cool and refreshing thing to have on hand! Love it! Enjoy your day dear Vicki, HUGS!

  2. This sounds great. I am off to check it out on Amazon.

  3. Morning Vickie,
I have seen recipes for making that in magazines, but never saw the diffuser type bottles or pitchers, will have to check that out cause that is definitely a much more healthy way to get your
water. My daughter is a mammographer and she said the colleagues she works with really
feel that the plastic water bottles that are disposable are causing a lot of breast cancers.
So I went to Walmart and bought a few heavy duty bottles that are safe and keep them in
the fridge, so if I go out I can just grab one and take it with me. Will definitely have to check
out the diffuser bottle cause I do like flavored waters. Glad you are enjoying yours so much.
    Blessings, Nellie
Oh yea and that spinach chicken recipe looks yummo.................

  4. I wondered if they work well; fruit waters are wonderful but I don't like making them in my regular pitchers; now with your recommendation I'll most certainly be investing in one!

  5. I'll have to look into one of those. I drink a lot of water. xo Laura

  6. Where have I been? I've never even heard of one of these. May have to get one because I drink Crystal Lite and this is better for me.

  7. I have seen these, great idea . . . I need to buy one!

  8. Never seen one of these before. I'll have to keep my eye out for one. I make a lot of lemon water in a pitcher, but to Mae berry infused water would be delicious!

  9. This sounds really great! I'm going to look into getting one.
    Thanks! =)

  10. So good for you and sounds delicious Vicki! Hope you are enjoying your week:)

  11. I love flavored waters, and this sounds really good. Makes drinking water that much easier. I'll have to check out diffusers!

  12. This is my first visit to your blog. I found you through Home and Garden Thursday, and it is my first visit there as well. (I am just getting back to beautiful, home-centered blogging after focusing solely on a film blog for the last 3 years.)

There is a small locally-owned restaurant I enjoy frequenting, and they serve infused waters. They've had all sorts of flavors, and I've loved them all. I've wanted to try making them myself. Now, thanks to you, I know how.

  13. I have never seen one of these. What a great gadget to have in the house! Thanks for sharing with SYC.

  14. I like your water infuser - so much better than the one I'm currently using. I'll have to head over to Amazon and check it out.
