Thoughts for Thursday...flowers, health, etc.

  • At last, my pretty, purple crocus bulbs have opened. I first posted a photo of the closed bud, three weeks ago and the last few days of sunshine have helped them bloom. It makes me happy to see these next to my front porch and I can't wait to see the tulips bloom next.
  • Megan will be cheering on the Michigan Wolverines in the Final 4 NCAA Basketball Tournament this weekend. We were disappointed that MSU was eliminated, but were happy to see Michigan do well and are excited for all the Michigan students and alumni (especially Megan).
  • Another sign of spring, is my first pedicure of the season. It felt so good to sit in the pedicure chair, chat and relax with Melissa, this past Saturday. It is still a little too cold for sandals, but I love looking down and seeing a pretty, spring nail polish color on my toes.
  • And finally, an update on my eye - it has been a long 4 days, with a lot of pain and mostly sitting in a darkened room to avoid the light sensitivity I was experiencing. I managed to blog with one eye, but could only read and type in short bursts, when I felt good enough. I am happy to say the ophthamologist gave me the news that I am 95% healed and I even felt good enough to go for a walk yesterday. Healing from something like this can be slower for a diabetic, so the doctors were a little more cautious. But, since my blood glucose numbers are in control, I was not harmed by this side effect. Another reason to stay as healthy as I can :-)

Happy Thursday!

  5. We're enjoying small signs of spring here too. Just before Spring Break, my daughter and I went for our 1st mother/daughter pedi's. What a treat! I'm enjoying bright green on my toes :) So glad to hear you're recovering well. Take care.

  10. I just snapped a picture of my small daffs finally peeking thru the ground. Still just shoots, but that's something! I'm so glad you're healing and feeling better.

  11. Vicki, I totally missed all the news about your eye. That can be so painful and I am glad to hear that it has improved and that you are out of danger. We depend so much on our precious sight, sometimes we forget to appreciate it. Glad to hear the big M made it through to the Final 4 and how exciting for your daughter to be cheering them on. If it couldn't be our Florida Gators, I'm glad it's come down to the four it has. Best of luck to them all and to you with your eye. Ann P.S. Love your pedicure!

  13. It's been cold here but I got a pedicure too and said good bye to winter and coats and closed toe shoes. I walk fast where I'm going but even when it was 32 degrees the other morning - I wore sandals. I'm giving Old Man Winter "the boot". lol Have a great weekend ahead.

  16. Glad your eye is getting better! Yikes. That must have been scary! And your crocus is beautiful! And while I hate that MSU is out, I guess I will support the big ten. Maybe.
